My Valentines Day:

Day started with going to school.

A student brought me a cupcake!

I didn't have to teach because the counselors are teaching the next few days about suicide and stress.

So it was a relaxing day.

After school, I had lacrosse.

I let the girls bring a date to practice and it was a fun day.

The girls really enjoyed it.

I wanted Alex to come but he has a meeting every Tuesday from 1-4.

Well surprise surprise Alex showed up!

Right as we were starting practice I saw my sweetheart walking to the field with flowers.

Look at him go.

After practice we went home and just relaxed until we had dinner at P.F. Changs.

The best part is that it was the most time I've got to spend with Alex on a weekday.

We don't get to see each other much with our busy schedule so it was great to spend the afternoon with him.

I love Valentines Day.

I know people are downers on this day cause they're single, but there's tons of people to love.

I love getting the texts from friends and family on Valentines Day.

Yesterday was such a good day!

I've been trying to go to the gym a lot because my doctor told me to really work on building up my quad muscles because that will help with my knee.

The stronger it is, the less likely I'll have to get surgery.

So yesterday, I headed to the gym after lacrosse.

And let me tell you. It's been hard.

It's hard to get up at 6:30, go to school, then to lacrosse, then the gym.

I don't get home until 7.

But I've been going and riding the bike.

Yesterday, I decided I was going to jog a lap on the track and see how it felt.

I did it with my brace on.

I did one lap, felt pretty good.

Did another. Still feeling good.

I ended up running three miles yesterday!

It was so exciting.

I started crying after I did one lap I was so excited.

I do not enjoy running, but I always feel the best after a run.

I can't find that same feeling with any other type of exercise and I've missed it.

My knee was great. I had to be really conscious of each step I took.

I didn't want to jerk one way or the other cause I knew that would hurt it.

But paying attention and running cautiously was great.

I'm starting to feel so much better and that there might be a light at the end of this long injury tunnel.

Our poor blog has been neglected lately.

Here's an update of what we've been doing.

Alex:

New boss at his work. Keeps him very busy.

Taking a basketball class which he thouroughly enjoys.

He's enjoying his last semester so far.

His classes involve a lot of application and real life work, which he loves.

He's also got to go to Parowan to work on the houseboat.

He loves being able to do that so this weekend he got to work with Jared on the houseboat.

He's still being the awesome husband he has always been.

Very supportive and helpful because we've both been extremely busy the past few weeks.

Becca:

Team teaching currently, starting to teach on my own starting the 31st.

Coaching lacrosse, currently just doing conditioning. We start practice on February 2nd with our sticks. I have an awesome group of girls this year.

Doing physical therapy trying to heal my leg. It definitely feels a little stronger.

Making sure to spend time with Alex. We take advantage of our nights together.

We enjoy being busy, but we also enjoy our weekends that we get to spend together.

We are lucky enough to have my little brother Kenny living with us until his mission.

It's been so enjoyable to have him around.

That's the update for now, sorry no pictures! I've been terrible at taking them lately.

Knee Update:

So I finally got an MRI on Tuesday and went to the doctor today to figure out what the problem is.

Sadly, it is my ACL.

The doctor said I had a partial tear in my ACL and also a torn ligament on the outside of my knee.

The ligament will heal itself but is the most painful part!

The doctor was surprised it was my ACL because my knee feels so stable so for now the plan is to do physical therapy for 2 weeks to see if it'll start to heal itself.

If the physical therapy doesn't work then I'll need surgery.

I'm okay waiting a bit because I wouldn't be able to have surgery until presidents day weekend (because of student teaching and lacrosse).

So for now, I work on making my leg better.
I really hope the physical therapy works.
This process is absolutely killing me.

Outside of my knee, student teaching is great.

Alex doesn't have a horrible schedule this semester and is just busy with his job!

I feel so grown up!

Christmas in Florida

We had a great time this Christmas break!

We got to go to Naples, Florida, which is were my parents live now and spend time with my family.

We all left on Sunday the 18th and stayed until January 2nd.

We played a lot of golf (Alex got pretty good), tennis, and card games.

We caught up with some old friends and enjoyed socializing.

We went wakeboarding multiple times, but also on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Sadly on New Year's Eve I was using my dads new wake skis (they're like water ski's but wider and lighter so you can jump the wake and do tricks) and I was trying to a surface 180 when my left leg went one way and my right leg went the other way. I heard a loud pop and just screamed in pain. I went to the doctor and they think I tore my ACL. I have to wait until Thursday to find out for sure. It's really horrible timing for me to get hurt and I can't believe I was being so dumb! But we're hoping for the best.

Other than that we had an awesome time. I love getting to spend time with my parents and my siblings. We had a great time with Nash as well.

We can't wait to go back.

We're also so glad we only have to wait until February to see my mom and dad again!

Look at me go, blogging three times in 2 days!

I'm on fire!!

Just wanted to write a quick health post.

For all the skeptics out there who think that strictly watching what you eat and exercising won't help you lose weight, I have some news for you!

For the past few weeks I've been watching my calories and exercising every day.

And...

I've lost 6.5 pounds!

It was a little slow going at first and I wasn't seeing any results, but the past week, the results have really shown.

I'm excited to use myself as an example in the health classes I teach next semester!

I had to share these.

I went to the park today with my sweet nephews.

They were in heaven, they were laughing and loving it.

Melted my heart.

Then Alex wanted to take a nap, so Tyler cuddled up with him.

Instead of sleeping he played with Uncle Alex's nose.

They love him.

I love being so close to them and getting to watch them for my sister-in-law.

I'm really sad I won't be able to watch them during the week next semester.

Just means they'll be seeing lots of me on the weekends.

I love those boys.
They've been such a blessing in my life.

This year, Thanksgiving was spent at Alex's parent's house in Parowan.

We were finished with school on Tuesday and headed down that evening with Alex's sister Cami.

We were so excited to finally have a break from school!

We got down there Tuesday night and chatted then went to bed.

Wednesday morning, I went for a run around Parowan.

I had a great run.

We messed around for a while after that.

Alex and I rode bikes to the grocery store to get the ingredients for the key lime pie I was in charge of.

We went over to the track to see Cami run.

I helped Cami with some homework.

Then Cheryl and the babies arrived.

That night we went 4 wheeling with Alex's cousins.

After 4 wheeling, we went and played basketball.
We had lots of fun with Alex's family and his cousins.

Thursday was Thanksgiving!

I got up that morning and ran with Cheryl.

We ran to go see the boys playing football.

Our run turned out to be a little bit longer because we had to search to find them.

We watched them for a second, but then ran home to watch the babies.

We got ready for the day and around 2:30 we ate!

I've never been the one to eat a ton on Thanksgiving, but I do eat lots of pie.

I love pie.

So thankful for him.

Sadly I didn't have any apple pie this year, so I'll have to get me some this week!

After we ate, we lounged around, took a nap, played some games.

That night, I helped Cami with her Thanksgiving tradition of putting an M on the sign of a Dental Clinic so it'll say "Mental Clinic".

At midnight, Cami, Cheryl, Joyce and I went to Walmart for a little black friday action.

It was wild.

But we got some goodies.

Friday, another morning run, then Alex and I took the babies to feed the horses.

They love the horses and they know how to say "neigh".

When we were feeding the horses, Alex's dad said we should go to Lehman's Cave.

So we hurried, got ready, and headed out.

We drove out to Lehman's cave, had lunch and waited for our tour.

I was trying to suck it up, but I'm terrified of caves.

I'm not sure why.

It's not claustrophobia because it doesn't happen in all small spaces.

It's just the uneasiness of being underground, in tight spots.

Overall it was an enjoyable trip, with the exception of the hour in the cave.

Saturday, Alex and I took the babies to feed the horses again.

Around noon, Cheryl, Alex, Joyce and I headed to St. George.

We had some in n' out burger and did a little shopping.

We came back to Parowan in time for the candlelight parade and for the lighting of main street.

It was really fun, but cold.

After the parade, we played basketball again with Alex's cousins.

Not as fun as the first night, but still fun.

Sunday we lounged around, but also took the babies again to see the horses.

We went to church, had dinner, and headed back home.

We had a great Thanksgiving break.

It was so hard to come back to school, but only 3 more weeks until Florida!

For Halloween,

We drove to Santaquin to spend it with Cheryl, Jared, and the babies.

Joshie was a cow and Tyler was a doggie.

We ate dinner with them and then went trick-or-treating.

The babies were so cute!

They would carry their baskets to the door and hold it up for candy.

They then realized that there was something in there so they wanted what was inside.

After we got home we ate some monster pudding.

It was a spooooky dessert!

We had a great Halloween!

I've been slacking big time.

And I can't find my camera cord.

We are so busy with school!

This is my last semester of classes and I'm taking a 17.5 credit load.

Pretty hefty with all the projects and tests going on currently.

I'm waiting on my student teaching assignment.

I'm hoping to get it this week.

I'm also super busy with lacrosse.

We're a club team so we totally support ourselves.

It's a lot of work but I love it.

I have a coaches clinic this Saturday and then a tournament in two weeks!

Alex is super busy with school getting ready for his FE exam.

All civil engineers have to take it in order to graduate.

Poor kid is so stressed.

On a happier note,

I've been awesome at making dinners this semester.

I used to hate making dinners because around 4pm every night we would look in our fridge and have no idea what to make.

So now, I make a menu of what we'll eat that week.

I go shopping Monday for all the ingredients.

I've been doing this since the first week of the semester and have continued to do this.
It's so nice!

And I enjoy cooking these new meals.

I've also tried new desserts.

This fall my favorites have been mini pumpkin pies, mini apple pies, and pumpkin spice cake (easiest thing ever).

Well that is what we've been up to.

When I find my camera cord I promise to get some pictures up.

Oh and I'll post about Kenny's mission call!!

Quick update.

We've been MIA.

Lots and lots of school.

Becca's waiting to hear about her student teaching assignment.

Alex is studying for the FE exam.

Becca's coaching fall ball.

Alex went trucking a few weekends.

Becca babysits her nephews.

Alex still works at facilities.

But in between this busyness, we've been able to:

Go to the BYU games

Play intramurals

Go on dates to play putt putt

And spend some time together.

We're excited about almost being down with school.

But we're also trying to soak up our last experiences.

Baked Perfection is my new favorite blog.

I've found so many good recipes I want to try.

So far I've tried the key lime cupcakes with blackberry filling and blackberry frosting.

These were a complete success.

I brought them to my brothers when we were having dinner and he had eaten a ton and said, "I'm going to go throw up just so I can go eat some more."

My dad told me that was the ultimate compliment.

Boston Continued

The next day we had the family reunion.

Grandma and Grandpa gave us our own cake to celebrate our second anniversary!

So sweet!

We ate some lunch, played games, and watched family slide shows.

After the party, we all did a boat ride in Plymouth Harbor.

We had a great time and loved to be able to hang out with family.

On Monday, we moved hotels and stayed in Boston.

We started the day with a jog through Boston Commons. (Mom and I)

After, we went on a duck tour!

It's an amphibious vehicle! So fun.

We learned tons of history about Boston along the way.

After the tour, we went to a bbq with my Gparents for temple workers.

My Gparents are in the temple presidency for the Boston Temple.

After we went up to the temple to show Alex and Ana.
It was cool to see.

I remember going through the open house of the temple before it was finished.

Then we went and hit some major spots along the freedom trail.

Below we went and saw the USS Constitution.

We also saw Paul Revere's house, Bunker Hill Monument, the site of the Boston Massacre, the graves of Samuel Adams and others, and a lot more!

Tuesday consisted of walking in Boston Commons.

We saw the ducklings in the park from the book "Make Way for Ducklings".

We did a swan boat ride.

We saw the frog pond.

We walked around Boston some more.

And finished the day with dinner at a small little restaurant.

We had a great time in Boston, but the best part was spending time with family.

I was so happy to show Alex a large part of my life.

It was fun for him to see a place that I really do find beautiful.

Thanks for a great trip Mom and Dad.

Boston Trip

Boston Trip
August 11th-17th

We left SLC on Wednesday the 11th, and flew first to Chicago.

In Chicago, we ended up connected with Mom and Dad and flew with them to Boston.

After we arrived, we headed to Hingham Harbor.

We looked at the harbor and then headed to one of my parents favorite restaurants, Tosca.

After eating, we drove around to different areas we lived.

We went and saw the houses Dad grew up in and the ones Mom lived in as well.

We showed Alex and Ana where we lived.

We showed them the first house I ever lived in.

And then we showed them the last house we lived in.

This is the house I lived in from ages 4-8.

We went and said hi to my grandparents as well as my cousins and my Uncle Kevin.

We then went and checked into our hotel in Plymouth and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

On Friday, we woke up went to breakfast.

Mom and Alex both share a love for breakfast so we always had really good breakfasts.

The one in Plymouth was one of our favorites.

After breakfast we headed into Boston.

We went and did a tour of Fenway park.

I always remember going to Red Sox baseball games when I was little.

It was so fun to learn all the history of the Red Sox and Fenway park.

After Fenway Park we headed over to the Quincy Market.

It's like a little farmers market.

We walked around there and ate lunch.

Alex had real New England clam chowder.
I had some awesome lobster bisque.

Right by Quincy Market is Fauneil Hall.

It's still used as a meeting house.

It's been a meeting house from 1972 until now!

We then went to Situate Harbor.

This is one of the places I most remember in Massachusetts.

I remember going there when we were really little and playing on the rocks and touching the water.

That night we did a ghost tour in Plymouth.

Before the ghost tour we looked at Plymouth rock.

Alex was a little dissappointed.

He said it was a lot smaller than he expected it to be.

My grandma was really excited about this and asked us to go.

We went and had a good time.

It was a little long though.

We called it a night after the ghost tours.

On Saturday we stayed around Plymouth.

Mom and I started the day by doing a run around Plymouth.

It was a lot of fun.

After we went and had Mom and Alex's favorite meal of the day at a little cafe.

We then went and saw the Mayflower.

I remember visiting it all the time in elementary school.

It was fun for Alex to see it and experience it for the first time.

After the Mayflower we headed to the Plymouth Plantation.

It's a replication of what the original settlement would have looked like.

It also shows how the Indians would have been living like at that time.

We drove by Mabbie's house she grew up in.

Look at it, isn't it gorgeous!

That night, we celebrated my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary.

It was so fun to spend time with my dad's side of the family.

Okay so school started Monday.

It is my last semester of classes.

In the winter I start my student teaching.

Let me tell you this senioritis is KILLING me.

I have no motivation at all!!

I just want to start teaching.

Oh and Alex will be done in April as well.

But will just start back up in Fall for his masters.

Poor kid.

Other than that, summer was amazing.

We had the best summer traveling and spending time with each other and family.

I will update soon about our Boston trip.

But for now, just be jealous you're not in school

This post is long overdue.
But since we aren't celebrating until Friday, because we've been out of town and Alex's has been working...I think it's okay that it's a little late!

Two years ago on August 14th, I married my best friend.

This year on that same day we had a family reunion and celebrated my grandparents 50th birthday.

It was a great way to spend it because I loved seeing the love my grandparents still have for eachother.

My grandpa still grabs my grandma's hand, and still hugs her all the time.

And today is my parents anniversary.

They have been together for 26 years.

My dad thinks my mom is the most amazing woman in the whole world.

I always wanted to find someone who loved me as much as my dad loves my mom.

I'm so lucky that I found someone who will want to hold my hand when I'm old.

And hug me all the time.

I'm also glad I found someone I can constantly have fun with all the time.

I'm glad I found someone my family absolutely adores and someone whose family I absolutely adore.

I'm glad I found someone who loves me like my dad loves my mom.

So here's to 2 years to my sweetheart!

Spudman Triathlon:

Saturday we had the Spudman triathlon.

The night before I didn’t get a very goodnight sleep because I was so nervous.

We headed up to the race in the morning and we were running a little late, which was kind of good because I didn’t have time to get nervous.

Alex and Jared started in wave 2 and they were off!

Cecilie and I started in wave 3 and when they said go I just started to swim.
The race started with the swim in the Snake River.

It was so nice because the current helped push you along.

I got through the swim by doing the backstroke and the sidestroke.

One hundred strokes on the back and one hundred on the side, switching back and forth.

I saw the end of the swim and looked at the path by the bikes and saw Alex.

I called his name and said hi, and then was right out of the river.

Getting out of the river, I started taking off my wetsuit and ran by Alex.

I heard Alex say, “Babe I think someone stole my socks! I have no socks!”

He couldn’t find his socks so he did the bike and the run with no socks on.

Ouch!

I had my wetsuit off by the time I got to my bike and dried my feet off, threw on my shoes and ran out of the bike area.

I hopped on my bike and started biking.

The bike was horrible.

I didn’t train very well for the bike, which was a huge mistake.

I felt like I was pedaling like everyone else but like I wasn’t getting anywhere.

I would mess with my gears go up and down and just couldn’t get it.

I was getting really discouraged because I was just being passed and passed and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.

I beat Cecilie out of the river but both her and Cheryl passed me on the bike.

I got really discouraged and was having a hard time on the bike.
I kept talking to myself saying, “you’re doing awesome you’re doing great”

When I finally saw the bridge near where we started I wanted to cry I was so happy.

I could not wait to get off that stupid bike.

I got off the bike and my left foot was numb!

I hung my bike up and decided to eat one of the goo things that are supposed to give you energy.

Oh my goodness it was disgusting.

After that I headed out on my run.

The run felt like a complete relief from the bike.

I felt in my element and I knew I could finish it without stopping.

At around a mile and a half I was so sick.

My stomach was killing and the lady running next to me said I looked really pale.

At mile two I went to the side of the road and puked.

I’m pretty sure the stupid goo made me sick, but after I threw up I felt so much better.

I just ran and ran; finally I was the one passing people instead of getting passed like on the bike.

It was a great feeling passing people that had passed me on the bike.

The only time I had to stop on the run was to use the bathroom at about mile 4.

Other than that I ran the whole way.

My back did amazing.

The night before I made a deal with my back.

I said that if it would not hurt until the last mile, it would be perfect.

I knew I could bare the pain for about a mile but anything more than that wouldn’t be good

During the last half mile of the run it was almost instant.
My back just started to kill.

In my head I just thought, “You said it could hurt at this point just push through.”

Running and seeing that finish line was one of the best feelings ever.

I kicked it into high gear and ran past the finish line.

It was so good to see Alex.

So good.

It made me so happy to be down and to have actually enjoyed myself.

I will participate in the Spudman again, probably next year!

But I will absolutely be working on my biking more because I could have been way faster if I would have just figured out that stupid bike!!

Washington Trip:

On Tuesday we headed up to Washington.

On the way up we stopped at Mount St. Helens because neither Alex nor I had ever been there.

While we were headed up Alex and I read all about Mount St. Helen’s on my phone.

It was so interesting because I didn’t know much about the 1980 eruption.

When we got to the Mountain it was kind of sad because they had pictures of the mountain before the eruption and it was so beautiful.

After the eruption the mountain looked completely different and didn’t even look like a mountain any more.

We ate at a little café on the way down, and then headed to Enumclaw.

We arrived in Enumclaw at Alex’s grandparents house.

We had dinner that night with his grandparents, his Aunt Gayle and Uncle Tracey and his cousin Rachel.

After dinner his cousins, Angie and Stacey, and their kids came over.

Alex’s Uncle Tracey took us in his plane on a ride.

It was so fun to fly in his plane!

We headed back to his grandparents and had a great night.

That next morning we woke up and did our run.

I got lost and Alex had to come find me.

His grandparents made us a great breakfast.

We then headed to Seattle with Gayle and Tracey.

They showed us around the city.

We went to see the Fremont Troll (which was shown in the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, my favorite movie).

We then went and saw the Locks which is were boats going from the lake into the Puget sound go in the lock and the water level changes so that the boats can enter or exit the sound!

We also saw the fish ladders and saw the salmon swimming upstream.

We then headed to Menchies frozen yogurt that Tracey partially owns.

It was perfect for me because I love some frozen yogurt!

We then went and walked around Pikes Place market.

There was so much fresh seafood and produce I would love to have a market like that around me in Provo.

We stuck gum on the gum wall, gross.

Then ate at Ivars.

It had great seafood and was fun to feed the seagulls.

After getting back from Seattle we went to Alex’s cousins Angies to chat and hang out with his cousins Stacey and Scott and Angie and their spouses.

It was fun to meet them and talk with them

We had such a fun night.

Thursday morning, we did our last run of the week, and no one got lost.

We enjoyed breakfast and then went to pick up Gayle and Rachel.

We spent the day at Mount Rainer.

We saw huge trees in the forests up the canyon and learned all about Mount Rainer.

I think Alex was fighting an urge to climb it.

That night we had dinner with everyone and got some good rest.

Friday we woke up early and headed out to Idaho.

We had so much fun in Washington with Alex’s family and definitely will have to make a trip back sometime soon.

Oregon Trip

On Wednesday, the 20^th, Alex and I headed off to Oregon to spend some time with Mabbie and John.

We decided about a year ago we would make the trip to the northwest coast because we both have family up there, plus I’d never been!

The trip from our sweet Provo apartment, to Mabbie's house, took us 13 hours.
On the way up we stopped at Multnomah Falls.

The waterfall was gorgeous!

We arrived around 7 pm.

We chatted and ate some dinner and then headed to bed because we were leaving to go camping in the morning.

Thursday morning we got all packed up and headed to the Oregon coast.

When driving to the coast it was so cool, the forests were so different then I had ever seen.

They have moss all over them.

I kept telling Alex I thought trolls lived in the forests because they reminded me of the movie Enchanted.

We made it to the campground, which was just outside of a town called Nehalem, got all set up and walked down to the coast.

It was pretty chilly but we had to put our feet in the water.

The water was freezing!

But it was really beautiful.

After that we ate some dinner, and hung out.

The next morning, Alex and I got up and went for a run.

We were still in training for the triathlon.

We got back and had some breakfast.

After breakfast we got ready and headed to Tillamook.

We first stopped to at the Tillamook cheese factory.

We saw packaging cheese, we didn’t see them making it, but it was still really cool.

We tried all the different types of cheeses and Mabbie and John bought some cheese for us to enjoy while camping.

After eating some cheese we decided to have some Tillamook ice cream.

It was delicious!

After the cheese factory, we drove along to the coast to stop at a lighthouse.

It was beautiful, but sad because two boys had vandalized the windows at the lighthouse.

But the view was amazing.

On the way back to the campground we stopped and got some Tillamook beef jerky.

Delicious.

We played games that night at the campground and just enjoyed relaxing.

Saturday morning we work up and ran again.

We had a tasty breakfast then headed into Cannon beach.

We stopped at a beach called haystack rock and looked at the tide pools.

It’s been such a long time that I’ve got to play in tide pools that it was so exciting.

After the tide pools we went to a city called Cannon beach.

It was the cutest little town.

We walked the downtown, got some taffy, and ate at a pizza parlor.

Another great day on the coast.

Sunday, we cleaned up, packed up and headed out.

When we got back we headed to my Uncle Lee’s and Aunt Linda’s to see them and my cousins who also live in Oregon.

We had dinner with them and had a great time reminiscing and laughing.

It was great to see all my cousins who I haven’t seen in years.

Also it was Alex’s first time to meet all the cousins!

I missed them!

Monday we went on a jog and learned how many hills were around Mabbie’s house.

It was killer!

After we headed to Portland with Mabbie.

We got some donuts from a famous donut placed called Voodoo donuts.

We walked around a little farmers market in the middle of Portland.

We also walked on the waterfront, and it was so cool to see the city built on the river.

After walking around, we stopped at John's office to see his company.

We had fun in Portland and loved how eccentric it was.

That night we had fun just hanging out with Mabbie and John and watching the Bachelorette.

Tuesday we packed up and headed to Washington!

We're spending sometime in Oregon visiting family.

We've been here since Wednesday and will stay until Tuesday.

On Tuesday we'll make our way up to Washington to visit more family.

We leave there Friday to go to Burley, Idaho for our triathlon.

I Survived Lake Powell, 2011

This weekend we headed to Lake Powell.

Alex and I went down on Thursday so we could get camp set up and have everything ready for people to come.

Let me tell you.

We had quite the adventure.

Alex and I got to the lake later than expected.

Around 4 pm.

Kenny, Christina, and Jessika (Kenny's girlfriend) were coming that night so we wanted to have a beach ready for when they were there.

We got out on the lake (I did awesome driving the boat by the way) and we headed to the first bay.

We started looking for a beach but since the lake rises about a foot a day there were no good beaches.

We looked all around that bay and by the time we decided to go to a different bay, a storm rolled in and the waves were huge.

I wish I would have taken a picture.

They were like ocean waves.

It was insane!

While driving, my pillow fell out.

We went back and got it before it sunk but I cried.

I was so distressed.
I love my pillow! It helps me sleep so much better at night.

Plus I was a little stressed because we couldn't find a beach.

We get to the other bay and start looking.

We thought we found the perfect beach so we pull out our tent to start to set up.

Well, we try to drive a stake into the ground, and come to find out it was rock underneath the sand.

Horrible.

We threw the tent back in the boat and started to look again.

At that point, Kenny had called and said they were there.

But from the bay we were in it was about 45 minutes to the marina to pick them up so I hit panic mode.

We drove around for a second and found a camping spot that was pretty level.

It had weeds all over it but was the best we could find.

Alex and I unloaded the boat really fast and then he went to go pick up the siblings while I set up camp.

It was interesting.

The wind was still blowing pretty strong, so as I got our tent up, it started to blow away.

I was running along the beach chasing our tent.

People in the houseboats were staring at me.

Haha.

Wish it were video taped because I'm sure I looked like a fool.

Other than that I got the whole camp set up by the time they got back.

We had some hot dogs for dinner and just hung around.

We got up the next morning and Alex and I set up a shade for the beach.

After that, we headed to the marina to get Alex's parents.

After getting his parents, we got back and had some lunch.

We played on the jet skis and hung around the beach.

We were waiting until the evening to wakeboard, because the water wasn't very good.

We were also waiting for Cheryl, Jared, Cecilie, and the babies to come.

We got a call from Cheryl in the late afternoon that said they made it but the ranger wouldn't let them launch due to lightening and a storm that was coming.

We could see the dark clouds around us but none of us got up or did anything.

We just sat under the shade chatting.

The wind started to blow, so Kenny, Jessika, Christina, Alex, Joyce and myself all had to stand up to hold onto the shade.

It started to kind of move but we thought it would be okay because it had a cooler that probably weighed 150 pounds attached and rocks buried in the ground to help hold it.

All of us were holding different posts.

A gust of wind came and we all held on, but Christina looked behind us and noticed that mine and Alex's tent had lifted out of the pegs and started to slide on the ground.

She ran and jumped on it to save it.

As she was on the tent, this crazy gust of wind came out of now where, lifted the shade off the ground while lifting the five people who were holding it.

We were all literally body slammed to the ground.

I landed right on my back (worst place for me to land).

All I remember from that gust of wind, was being lifted up and seeing the giant white cooler flying through the air.

After that moment, it was like panic mode to save everything.

We saved all the food and threw it back in the cooler.

Christina was still holding the tent and the other little 2 man tent we had up with Kenny's air mattress in it had flown into the lake and a houseboat had fished it out.

After that it started to rain and was still kind of windy so we hid under the rain fly of the tent and held onto it.

After the storm had passed, we started to clean up.

The shade seemed completely ruined, all the poles were bent.

We were all bruised and exhausted but we cleaned up camp, picked up the tent and tried to reconstruct the shade.

Alex, Kenny, Jessika, and Mark did a really good job of making a new shade from the old one!

We still had a shade which was nice especially in the Lake Powell heat.

Cheryl, Jared, Ceci, and the babies ended up getting a motel room because they couldn't make it to the camp safely that night.

We set up Mark and Joyce's tent (which thankfully wasn't set up during the storm) and played some bocce.

After that, the water was perfect so we set out to wakeboard!

The night was pretty uneventful after that.

We all went to bed hoping there would be no more storms in the middle of the night.

In the morning, Christina, Joyce, and I slept in, while Kenny, Jessika, Alex and Mark wakeboarded.

They said the water was awesome and they were out for a while.

When they got back, we started breakfast, and Jared, Cheryl, Ceci, and the babies showed up.

It was gorgeous out.

We had breakfast, took the babies on jet ski rides, chatted and snacked.

We then went out on Cheryl and Jareds boat, and surfed.

I love surfing and Jared's boat throws off a great wake on the goofy side so I surfed forever.

So fun.

The babies fell asleep on the boat ride.

But woke up in time to play in the water.

After surfing and swimming, we came back to the camp for lunch.

We had lunch and hung around chatting.

We noticed clouds coming in again like they did the day before but figured it could never be as bad as it was the day before.

We were leaving that night but no one really was packing up.

Finally Christina grabbed her stuff and put it in the boat which got everyone moving.

I was in the tent folding sleeping bags and air mattresses.

Jessika got all the dry stuff in the hull of the boat because it started to rain.

It started to rain harder and harder.

I have no idea what was going on outside of the tent because I was still cleaning up.

Cheryl asked if she could bring the babies to our tent so we could clean the other one up.

A few seconds after they said that, my feet were swept out from under me because a big gust of wind blew the tent and caused it to start sliding.

The tent collapsed on me and I totally panicked.

I didn't know Alex was just outside of it at the time and in my head I was in total panic mode.

I also thought Cheryl was walking over with her babies which scared me!

When I finally got out of the tent, everything was fine.

Cheryl, the babies, and her mom were in the other tent which collapsed on them, but they stayed in their to keep the babies safe.

I saw Jared in the water holding his boat that had moved.

And Kenny was seeking shelter in Alex's parents boat.

Once again, panic mode.

We were being pelted by rain that killed when it hurt.

I freaked because my camera and Alex's (new) phone were in a chair.

We found them (put them in rice that night and now they work).

We were all done with the storms and started cleaning up.

The houseboat next to us, told Cheryl to bring the babies over while we cleaned up.

Super nice people.

Everything was soaking wet and sandy so we washed everything in the lake before putting it in the boat.

We got everything loaded up and we headed out.

It was the most insane trip I've ever had at Lake Powell.

Motto of the trip: I survived Lake Powell 2011.

But it was also so much fun.

Even with the crazy weather, we love Lake Powell and would go back every weekend if we could.

But a houseboat is sounding better every single day.

We had such a fun 4th of July.

We started the day by going to the Provo Grand Parade.

It started out cloudy which was nice because it wasn't so hot.

It got hotter by the end of the parade.

Christina came with us to the parade.

After the twins party, I get a text from Kenny with a picture that says, "I think I need stitches"

Kenny, his girlfriend Jessika, his roommate John and Jessika's cousin Alex all went to the rope swings in Mona.

I knew they were there so when I got that text I was so curious about what happened.

Since I was in Santaquin it was a quick trip to the hospital in Nephi.

I drove down and met them.

Kenny had bit through his lip and needed 13 stitches.

He was trying to do a double flip off the rope swing and didn't flip off fast enough.

Poor Kenny. He's out of control.

But it all worked out.

They stopped by after the hospital to eat some food.

Then they went to Thanksgiving point to watch fireworks.

All in all it was a good day!

I've been meaning to put this up for a while and just got around to doing this.
It's more for my personal records but my few readers can enjoy it as well.
One morning I woke up and found this sweetness from my husband.
(excuse the spelling I just copied and pasted)

Things I love about my wife

· How she always tries to make me happy-The girl would do anything for me.

· The way she love her dog-She almost cried when I wouldn’t let him sleep with us.

· The way she keeps the romance alive-She is always thinking of ways to strengthen our relationship.

· Her beautiful face that I get to wake up next to-I’m not sure how I got her.

· Her athleticism-She’s the only girl who’s ever beat me at basketball.

· Her playfulness-Some nights I cant go to bed because she just want to tickle torture me to death.

· The way she forgives and forgets-Ive done some stupid stuff in the past few years but she loves me more today then the day we got married.

· Her flirtyness-The first time I met her she turned it on, and hasn’t stopped since….and I love it.

· She’s adventurous- She is always will to try something at least once.

· She’s brave- She dares to do things that really scare me, although they sometimes have lasting consequenses.

· Her love for her family- She talks to her mom every day, and loves every second spent with them. And would give her left leg for her siblings.

· Her mothering skill- Our kids are so lucky. They will literally have the best mom ever. Ive already seen it coming out when shes around our nephews.

· Her cooking- She may not agree but I have never had a bad meal that shes cooked.

· Her work ethic- She is the hardest working student at the school and her grads so it.

· Her cheerfulness- Most people that meet her wont forget her. Just ask her advisor.

· Her love of animals- Still cant get her to come to the slaughter house with me.

· The way she supports me- I leave to go trucking for days at a time and when she helps me get through everyday.

· Her constant willingness to want to talk with me- Ims ure we have the all time record for number of texts sent to each other.

· Her amazing hair-people pay for a head of hair like that.

· Her faithfulness- She really tries hard to keep the gospel a focus in our lives.

· Her fire for the future- She can not wait to be a teacher or for the upcoming lacrosse season.

· She’s a fish-I sure hope our kids take after her in that department.

· Her creativeness- She always has a new project shes working on. Just ask joshie and tyler about there birthday present.

· Her helpfulness- I got a great grade on the paper she wrote for me.

· Her dedication-She started running and hasn’t stopped since,

· Shes hott- She had me from the first time I looked at her.

· Shes my wife and I get to spend eternity with her!

It made me cry when I read this.

Alex makes me feel so special.

I'm so thankful we met and that we were sealed for eternity in the temple.

Luckiest girl ever?

I'd say yes.

This winter/spring I was lucky enough to help coach the Pleasant Grove high school lacrosse team.

I used it as my coaching internship for my minor.

It was an amazing experience.

The girls I had the privelege of coaching were some of the sweetest, smartest, best examples I have ever met.

These girls made me want to do better and be better.

I shared so many laughs and good times with all of these girls and I am so thankful for the time I got to spend with them.

I tried my best to be a good coach, but who knows how well I did that.

I learned so much from the coaches I was able to work with.

They were great examples as well.

All I know is I saw all the girls improve and achieve different goals everyday.

I'm glad this is the profession I chose to go into because I wouldn't mind doing this everyday.

Last weekend, we went to Vegas.
Cami, Alex and myself.

We went to go to my old roommates open house.

She looked gorgeous and it was so good to see her happy and married.

Our trip was quite eventful.

On the way to Vegas, sweet Maria blew a tire.

With her being a foreign car, it made it more difficult to change the tire.

We couldn't find the lug wrench so we had to flag people down to help us.

After the screws were all unscrewed, we discovered the tire was rusty and almost impossible to get off.

Thank goodness I have a strong hubby who kicked it off.

After that we were back on the road.

We walked the strip, did some people watching and did the roller coaster at New York New York.

We went to Meggy's open house and then headed home.

No problems with the car on the way home.

I may be a health education major.

But there are some things I'd like to fix about my health.

But instead of focusing on it all,

I've picked one goal I'm going to focus on.

I'm going to eat 2 cups of fruit every day.

That's the daily recommendation for women 19-30.

I can totally do this!

I love fruit.

I'll need some new fruits to try though.

Okay so not totally true.
Yes a week left with no Diet Coke.
I have done so good.
I have not had a diet coke since January 3.
I also haven't drinkin much soda at all.
I've only had a few sips here and there of sprite.
I'm almost there!

But I'm not out of school for summer quite yet.
In 2 weeks we'll be done with classes and finals.
But I'll be diving in the next week for spring classes.
I'm okay with that.
I only go to school 2 days a week in the spring so it's much better.

Alex will be driving again for his dad.
We love that job because it makes us some good money!

Yesterday was my sweeties birthday!
He's 25.
We went to the color festival in the morning.
Then we drove to Parowan to celebrate with his family.
The night before we went to dinner with my brother and some of his friends to celebrate.
We ate at his favorite restaurant, mexican.
I gave him a birthday week as well.

Alex is the best hubby.
I am so lucky to have him forever.

Best week of the year started today.
You all know what that is.

On March 4th we went to the Canyons!
I went up in the morning with Kenny, John (Kenny's friend) and Jessika (Kenny's gf).
It was so fun!
Alex came up around noon and joined us.

We were on the first gondola ride forever.
It kept stopping.

I also dropped my glove off the lift while getting starbursts.
Which wasn't fun.
But we found a way to go and get it.

Also poor, sweet little Jessika,
had a really hard fall on our last run.
She got the wind knocked out of her and passed out.
She said her thumb was hurting really bad too.
It was super scary.

She went to the doctor that night and found out she tore a ligament in her hand.
SO SAD!
Other than that it was tons of fun!
Haha.

Yesterday was this kids birthdayKenny turned 19 yesterday!!
I remember when we were dressing up for Halloween in Massachusetts.
I remember dressing him up like a girl and he enjoyed it. Haha.Kenny is such a dare devil.
He is afraid of nothing
Which is funny because those who knew Kenny when he was little can remember how terrified he was of rollercosters.
You would never know that now.
I was so lucky to get to go sky diving with him last summer.He's an awesome wakeboarder.
He can flip, do 360's and fly like crazy.
It's fun to watch him.
He's so funny.
He is good at making quick witty comments.
He cracks me up.
He's grown up so much.
I think he's the most changed out of all of us since we were little.
He is now a freshman at college and it has been so fun having him out here.
It will be crazy when he goes on his mission.
I'll miss him a ton.
But wherever he goes he'll be the best missionary and the people he will teach will be so grateful for all he did to get there.

He's always been one of my closest friends.
Ever since we were little we've always gotten along.

I'm so thankful for my little brother.
He's so fun to be around.

We had a great weekend in St. George.
Alex got to look at a lot of houseboats.
He also witnessed his first lacrosse game.
I got to coach 4 games.
We did pretty well.
2 wins, 2 loses.
We'll take it.
Saturday was filled with rain.
And red mud.
We got to see Mabbie and John.
And have quality time with Alex's parent's and Cheryl and Jared.
and the babes.
But overall we had a blast.

Happy Valentines Day!
So some people hate Valentines day.
Even when I was single I loved this day.
I believe that love should be celebrated every day.
And lucky for me I have a wonderful husband who treats me like its Valentines Day everyday.
And just because you don't have a boyfriend/husband doesn't mean it has to stink!
Everyone has someone to love.
And I know everyone has someone who loves them.
So Valentines Day should be a happy day for everyone!
I for sure love it.

Another birthday post,

and once again I'm late!
Oh well.

It was Cheryl's birthday on Thursday!
Seriously, she is the best.
She's probably the funnest mom.
She has the cutest babies.
She is funny, and fun to be around.
She's a good sister.
She's so easy to talk to.
Oh and super athletic.

We love Cheryl and we love that we get to see her so much.

Since February is the month of LOVE

Here are some of the things I love.

My sweet sweet husband.
I love this man to death.
I'm so glad I met him and that we are spending eternity together.
I love Alex.

I love my family.
My mom is my best friend. We talk everyday.
I love my dad, he is so awesome. He's so fun to hang out with and talk to. One of my best friends.
My sister is my best friend. I'm so glad she's home from her mission and I get to see her whenever I want!
My brother is another best friend. He is hilarious. So fun to be around.
I'm so thankful Ana has joined our family. I love her.
I love my family.

I love my nephews.
Joshie and Tyler bear.
They are the sweetest little boys.
I love how much personality they are getting and how happy they are.
I love these sweet boys.

I love my dog.
Nash is the cutest thing ever!
He's the best dog, he is so cute and funny.
I love Nash.

I love my in-laws.
I'm so thankful I married into such a great family.
I'm glad I have my sisters-in-law that live close by.
I have had great times with all of them and I'm so glad to have many more.

Yes, I love it!
My back feels so much better when I do it and I just feel overall better.

Currently I'm not drinking it because I have a bet with my dad.
But once the semester is over I look forward to a giant sip of some d.c.

It is one of my favorite places in the world.
I can't wait for summer and some lake time.
I loveeee the lake.

I love my friends.
I love making new friends and I love my old ones.
It is such a comfort to have friends to talk to.
I've known Lindsay for almost 8 years now.
We've been best friends for so long and still find time to talk and joke.
I love her.
Gillian and I met about a year and a half ago as visiting teaching companions.
We've built such a great friendship.
I love her.
I love all my friends new and old.

These are just a few things I love and as the month continues I may add some more love.

Okay, so recently I just got one of my dream jobs!
I say one because I have a few.
But right now I'm an assistant lacrosse coach for a high school out here.
I'm loving it!
We started practice Tuesday.
I love the girls.
I love the other coaches.
I love lacrosse.
I'm so glad to be back in it again.
3 years without it was too long.

There I am in the goal.

Okay, so one of these is late, and one of these is early...
but school is kicking my butt!

First it was Cecilie's birthday last week!
She turned 21, again, and doesn't look a day older!
We love Ceci!
She's so talented.
She is the ultimate baker and sewer.
For her birthday she got the cake cricut!
She is so so talented!
If you ever need a wedding cake made, she is fabulous.

We love Jared.

He's also fun to mess with.

Best Christmas present ever.
Alex got me this little watch for Christmas.
It's called a Nike Sportband.
It's great for running, it tells you your time, pace, distance, calories, everything.
This has been my partner in crime the past 2 weeks.
It makes me feel like an actual runner.

The next week of break we got to spend snowboarding with my family.
My dad and Kenny came back on Monday,
my mom and Christina arrived Tuesday night.
They drove all the way from Florida.

We went to Snowbasin, Brighton, and the Canyons.
We had a great time while they were here.
I really hope to live close to my parents someday.
I love them a ton.
But right now I'm so glad to have Kenny and Christina both out here.

I finally got my computer back!
So here is the update!

We spent Christmas this year in Parowan.
After finals were over we headed down for a week in P-town!

The first day we were there Alex helped his dad hang the Christmas lights
(a little late we know).
That evening we were supposed to go caroling.
They do it every Christmas.
Alex was so excited because he hasn't gotten to go in a long time.
Sadly, there was a giant snow storm.
And we were stuck inside.
But, we had a good dinner and had fun anyways!

On Tuesday, we attempted to go sledding.
It was a fail.

On Wednesday we went to Vegas with Alex's parents and Cami.
We spent the day shopping at the outlets.
That night we went to the Boise State vs. Utah game.
It was way fun.
We stayed the night in the Rio.
We walked around the casino and even gambled the dollar we had.
We doubled our starting wager.

We drove back to Parowan on Thursday.
The rest of the family showed up that night.

On Friday, Christmas Eve, we did a little last minute shopping in the morning.
When we got home we got ready and went to Alex's Aunt Noreen's for dinner.
They do the nativity every year but lately they haven't because Cade ruined it.
But I have never done it so I was excited!
I got to be Mary, and Alex was Joseph.
Our baby Jesus was played by Tyler.
Jared was an ass.
Preston and Janice were the shepherds.
Cade and Jacob were the wisemen.
Cami and Heath were the angels.

We got home from Noreen's and all put on our pjs.
We wrapped some last minute gifts and it was off to bed.
Alex and I watched Four Christmases before we fell asleep.
It's one of our favorite Christmas movies.

The next morning we woke up and had Christmas!
It was a different Christmas than I was used to because Alex's family doesn't wrap their Santa gifts.
It was different but fun.
We got lots of goodies.
My parents are awesome and sent their gifts to Cheryl who wrapped them and brought them down.
It was a great suprise.

I was so excited for Alex to open my gift to him.
He's needed a new snowboard for so long!
He had no idea I was getting him one and he was so excited!

This was my favorite gift!
Alex got me a Nike Sportband which is awesome for running.

I use it all the time.
It was a great surprise!

The twinners got life jackets for Christmas!
We can't wait for this summer at Lake Powell!

This is on Christmas Day.
We went over to Alex's Aunt Marie's.
We are wearing some Christmas clothes.

Joshie was using one of Prestons toys.
He was the driver of the car.

Christmas day was long and tiring.
Tyler and I needed a diet coke to keep us going.

I can't wait until they're a little older and understand.

We had a great Christmas break.
We're so thankful we had to opportunity to spend a week with Alex's family.
It was a great break from school and Provo.

Mom drove Kenny and Ana out here for school.
Nash celebrated his 7th birthday.
My parents moved to Naples, Florida.
Made new great friends.
Became nursery teachers.
Christina came home from her mission.
Wendy went on her mission.
Went to Florida for Thanksgiving.
Becca got all A's for fall semester.
Went to Parowan for Christmas.
Becca's family came and skied for New Years.
