Five Months

You are wearing size 2 diapers.
You are wearing some 3 months cloths still, but mostly 6 months cloths with an occasional 9 month outfit.
You sleep 10 hours (through the night, it's beautiful!)
You continue to feed great and eat about every 3 hours during the day and then have your long stretch at night.
You take about 2 naps a day if mom is good and is home. They're normally about 2 hours.
You started trying real food this month!
You LOVE your oatmeal. To the point that you have cried if I don't make enough.
We also have tried apples, bananas, sweet potatoes and pears. All made you gag.
I made homemade pureed avocados and that was the first thing that didn't make you gag.
You continue to roll like a crazy woman.
You still love laying on your belly.
You have started sitting up, but you can't do it for long periods of time.
You LOVE your jumper and LOVE to stand.
You love to mimic your dad and try to make the noises he makes.
For the past 2 months you've been teething, but no tooth has broken through.
You love bath time and you splash the whole time.
You continue to smile all the time.
You also have the cutest laugh.
You still let people snuggle you and we are hoping that continues.
We went hiking to red cliffs and you were a champ!
You also rode a horse for the first time this month with your dad.

We love you Lucille!

You wear some 6 months clothing as well.

You are wearing 3 month clothing or 3-6 month clothing. A few 6 month pants.
You are a smiling QUEEN. You love to smile.
You sleep about 4-5 hour stretches, with the occasional 7 hour stretch.
You love your hands lately and will push the binky out of your mouth to get the binky.
You were blessed at church.
You LOVE showers. We started having you take showers with us and you love them. Also baths calm you down immediately.
Still eating great.
You love standing or sitting in the bumbo.
You love being in the same room as people and don't like to be left behind.
You love your cousin Lukey. You two will stare at each other.

Every one compliments us on how beautiful and well tempered you are. Your doctor said how great and healthy you were, and just kept saying how cute he thought you were.

You had some vaccinations and you really hated them. You and I just snuggled and hung out the rest of that day because you did not feel good at all.

We watching you grow and develop and can't wait to see what next month has in store!

Lucy's Blessing Day

We had scheduled Lucy's blessing day for the first Sunday in January.
It worked perfectly cause my dad wanted to ski and my mom wanted to be here for Christina's baby shower!

We were scheduled to fly out on Friday.
My dad left Wednesday.
My mom was scheduled to leave Friday about 30 minutes after we were.

We were sitting waiting for our flight, and we saw our plane sitting there.
The attendant then said "Your flight has been canceled due to bad weather in Chicago" (that's where we were connecting).

Well we hussled and got in line to reschedule our flight.
I wasn't really worried, just figured they'd get us out the next day.

We waited in line for about 2 hours.
In the meantime Alex was on the phone with Southwest.
He got through with them and they said we wouldn't be able to get out until Wednesday.
Even then I wasn't worried. I figured the person at the desk could get us out.

Well she looked and looked EVERYWHERE and the earliest she could get us out was on Tuesday from a different airport.

We booked that flight but I knew there was no way we couldn't get home.
Everyone was in Utah!

While all this was going on, Christina was looking up flights for us.
Most of the flights were $1800.
She found one flight with 5 seats left, that could get us to Denver for only $250 each.
We decided we would do that and then rent a car and drive the rest of the way home.

Alex, Lucy, and I got to spend Saturday together in Florida.
That night our flight was delayed so we didn't get into Denver until midnight.
By the time we got our bags and the rental car, it was 2am.
 Time to push through!

Alex drove some and I slept. Then I drove some and he slept.
Lucy was incredible. She slept the entire time except to wake up and eat.
I was super glad I pushed through the hard times in nursing because it was so easy just to nurse her.

We made it home by about 10:30 am.
Mabbie and John were hear.
Mom, Dad, Christina and Connor met us here.
We made it in time for her blessing!

Alex gave her a great blessing and it made me so grateful for the knowledge the gospel gives me.
I'm grateful for my forever family.
I'm so glad I had so much extended family here as well.
We had my parents, one set of grandparents, and my sister here.
Then my awesome in-laws were able to come and even lots of Alex's aunts, uncles and cousins were there.

Lucy's second cousin was also blessed that same day so there was lots of family.

It was a great day!
And her beautiful dress was made by my incredibly talented mother-in-law!
We loved it!

Trip to Florida

We were so lucky to get to spend time with my family for Christmas!
We love that they live in Florida because we get an awesome vacation when we visit.

Christina and I flew out on the 15th.
Lucy was AWESOME on the flight.
It was really helpful having Christina there.

Our time in Florida was spent showing Lucy off to all mom's friends, meeting grandpa Ken, hanging with Nash, playing tennis, and enjoying the Florida sunshine. We loved spending time with family.

Alex came in the 23rd and we got him to ourselves for 10 days!
We had a great time in Florida.
Lucy loves not having to wear pants.

Until next time Florida!

Evans Family Christmas Letter

I don't send out a Christmas letter because we just jump on with my moms!
But I thought I'd write one here so our friends and family could get a detailed update of the happenings!

Alex
Alex is continuing to finish up his Masters degree in Civil Engineering. He's been working on the project aspect of it, and is scheduled to be finished by April 2014. He finished classes in April 2013 and immediately started driving. Alex chose to go back and work with his dad in the trucking company and will eventually take it over. He is passionate about improving the company and continuing to make it successful. This then led to us moving to Parowan, in June. Alex has loved being back in his hometown. He is so happy in what he is doing. He has also taken on a new role of a dad! He is incredible with his little girl. He is awesome at changing her, playing with her, sleeping with her, and bathing her. He has had a very successful 2013 year.

Becca
Becca coached lacrosse again in the spring of 2013 and continued to teach Teen Living at Lakeridge Jr. High. When the decision was made to move, she had to, unfortunately, walk away from her lacrosse team, which was a very difficult thing for her. She has adjusted to small town living and learned the perks of online shopping. She continues to do customer service for 2 companies in the mornings at home, and loves being able to work with her sister. She also started a job with the Utah Electronic High School teaching health. It is a great mom job! She has enjoyed being able to keep her license up. She is not out of the lacrosse life either. She is working with building lacrosse in southern Utah. She also accepted her dream job this year: MOM! It was something she always wanted and she is loving every blow out, spit up explosion, and cry fest. It really is her dream job.

Lucy
We found out we were expecting our sweet baby on February 28th. After first being told it was a boy, then being told she was really a girl, our sweet Lucy Grace joined our family on November 11th. She came into this world wide eyed and ready to live! She has been a great baby for us. She cries only when she needs something. She loves to move and kick her legs (no wonder Becca's ribs killed the whole time). She is the spit up queen! No matter how much she is burped she will spit up, then get the hiccups. She loves warm baths, especially when dad gives them. She has been a joy and a blessing in our lives and we are so grateful she is here.

We are so grateful for the blessings we have received and seen this year. We have had a great 2013 year and we look forward to see what 2014 has in store for us.
During this season we can't help but think of Christ and his sacrifice. We are grateful for our knowledge of him and we know that if we turn to him we are blessed.
John 8:12
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Merry Christmas!
